2015 Forum Archive

The 2015 forum, referred to more generally throughout this website as the “Season 1 AU”, was the first Scream the TV Series forum roleplaying game. Or so I assume. It is at the very least the first one I ever knew about, and the basis for the entire SRU project.

While many of the unique characters that would come to characterize the SRU came about in a later forum (the May 2016 Season 2 AU, natch), this game introduced a few longstanding original characters, and a few writers who would stay with the universe for years to come…including me.

The forum was launched in late August 2015, and the game itself began on September 6, within a week of the first season finale. It was structured like a TV series, having “episodes”, of which only two of a planned 10 were completed. A third episode was begun in January 2016, but petered out before the end of the month. By May, curious fans stumbled upon the forum ahead of the TV series’ second series premiere and, realizing the 2015 forum was defunct, launched a separate game.

In 2019, when Scream: The Final Retreat started, I used this forum as the bones of our shared continuity’s “Season 1”. That is, instead of just assuming the first season of the TV show happened as it did in canon, I decided that, since some original characters in Final Retreat were in this forum, some version of this board’s events must have occurred. This lead to The Story so Far, of which the two completed “episodes” of this forum formed the first two chapters for many years before I caved in and rewrote them in 2025/26.

Still, the forum is a valuable historical document, for this very niche corner of history. You can find it below, organized into “episodes”.
