Eli Hudson is a major character in the Scream roleplay universe, appearing in Volumes II and III of The Story so Far, The Final Retreat, and two entries of the Lakewood Legendarium.

Kieran and Deanna’s cousin, Eli is snarky, charming and, thanks to a lifetime of cleaning up his mother’s messes, scrappily resourceful. Tina’s bouts with the bottle and consummate unemployment meant Eli had to grow up fast, chipping in around the house from before it was legal for him to cash a paycheck. He didn’t exactly benefit from a loving extended family either. He and his cousin Kieran were close as brothers when they were kids, but drifted apart as the years went on, with Eli more frequently becoming the victim of his brother’s boyhood crimes rather than his partner in them.

His bond with Kieran was irreparably severed years later, when Eli was the star witness at Kieran’s trial for arson and manslaughter, with it generally being agreed Kieran wouldn’t have been sent to prison if it wasn’t for Eli’s testimony.

In early 2016, Eli came to Lakewood with his mother, originally to make sure runaway Deanna, who he’d been looking after during her time on the streets, had in fact returned to her brother. But Eli couldn’t anticipate Tina hatching another scheme, forcing him to put down roots in Lakewood…long before he couldn’t anticipated how much history he really had in his cousin’s new hometown.

Eli was a canon supporting character in the TV series’ second season. Like the other new characters introduced in that season, he did not feature in the Spring 2016 Season 2 AU. The character was killed off in the season finale, but his fate was left ambiguous enough that his death was undone in the October 2016 Season 3 AU, which had Eli’s death being a cover up in a poorly explained plot contrivance.

Eli’s survival was maintained with the launch of The Final Retreat in 2019, with the caveat that his apparent “death” in Season 2 had never occurred to be undone. Consequently, Eli’s first “canon” appearance occurred with the launch of The Final Retreat. His story was retroactively filled out in the second and third volumes of The Story so Far. Given Eli’s October 2016 appearances are not canon, Eli has been consistently portrayed by ThePlotMurderer for his entire run in the SRU.
