History
Theodora was born on July 7, 1962, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were working class: her father, a Korean War veteran, worked in a steel mill and her mother at a dressmaker’s. The scarcity of her upbringing was made up for by the love of her family, who went out of their way to make things as pleasant as their means would allow.
Theodora would remember her mother pressing flowers into scrapbooks. The craft never appealed to her…she was a restless child, and fond of her exercising her mind. As a little girl, she was fond of mystery fiction, and would frequently play the role of amateur sleuth, relishing in hunting down clues to mundane mysteries.
