Gina Winters is a character in the Scream Roleplay Universe, figuring in the first volume of The Story so Far.

Mrs. Winters, her husband Robert, and their daughter Stacy were among the first people targeted in the 2015 Lakewood Slashings. Though she and Robert were the first victims of the murder spree, their deaths are not depicted on-page and Robert and Gina do not “appear” alive in the text.

History

Gina was born Gina Mulvihill on March 31, 1974, in Lakewood. She married Robert Winters at the turn of the millennium and had a daughter by him, Stacy.

The Winters family lived in a pleasant suburban home on Kleinfeld Road, in the upwardly mobile district of “west Lakewood”, where they passed a staunchly middle class existence. Stacy developed a positive relationship with her mother and felt she could rely on her and her counsel.1

Murder

On the evening of October 18, 2015, Robert and Gina booked a table at an Asian fusion restaurant for a date night. Gina not-so-subtly boasted about the arrangement to her neighbor, Paula Henderson, whose not-as-attentive husband was in Montreal on business.2

Gina and Robert left Stacy home alone, where she clandestinely arranged a date of her own with her boyfriend Brock.3

On their way back from the restaurant,4 a mechanism of uncertain provenance released a toxic agent into the car, killing Gina and Robert. Their bodies were found later in the evening, after the murders of Stacy and Brock, by Deputy Richard Steele.5

Personality

Stacy assumes her mother would consider Brock convincing his friend Joel to delete his crass comment on the kissing video to be the “bare minimum”, suggesting Gina had higher standards for romantic partners. Stacy justifies her own relief, deciding she isn’t “the type of girl people cared about pleasing.”6

This attitude could lend itself to a sense of superiority, or at least that was the impression Paula Henderson had, when Gina told her about her fateful date night with Robert, contrasting it with Paula’s night at home.7

Origins

Robert and Gina Winters were created in 2025, when the Volume I Prologue was rewritten. They have no precedent either in the original 2019 Volume I or in the 2015 Season 1 AU, where Stacy’s unseen parents are described as being “out of town on vacation” at the time of their daughter’s murder.8
