Trent Price is a character in the Scream Roleplay Universe, figuring in the narrative’s backstory.
A hotheaded army brat with several chips on his shoulder, Trent’s saving grace in school was football and the friends he made playing the sport. In the space of a few short years, he went from a terminal problem child to a popular, fairly well-rounded young man who, despite all odds, was on track to achieving his dream of enlisting in the Armed Forces.
Unfortunately, he never quite kicked his habit of punching down, and one of his targets, school pariah Brandon James, finally had enough, killing Trent and most of his friends during an infamous Halloween night rampage.

History
Army Brat
Trent was born on April 20, 1978. His father was active duty Air Force and most of his childhood was spent moving around. It was a rootless life for a child, but Trent never minded. In fact, he grew up idolizing his father and dreamed of following in his footsteps as a soldier.
The Price family’s itinerant existence ended in the early ’90s, when Trent’s father returned from the first Gulf War, leaving a not-inconsiderable part of him back in Iraq. Captain Price had lost both his legs when his plane was shot down. Honorably discharged from the service and needing a place for his family to settle down, he relied on the recommendation of a friend and fellow veteran, Edward Teague, born and raised in Lakewood.
Trent took his father’s disability hard, becoming defensive and aggressive. He’d once been good at making friends (a necessary skill in such an itinerant life as his), but arrived in Lakewood moody and resentful. The only outlet for his anger was sports. He joined the Lakewood Lancers football team on starting high school, and promptly distinguished himself as a hothead, for better and worse.
In the peculiar manner of male-bonding, Trent’s blustery, violent tendencies on the field ended up first aggravating but then endearing him to his new teammates, and he soon found himself part of a tribe with the likes of Kevin Duval, Brett Keener, and Mike Vinson. Following an incident at an open mic night in the summer of 1994, Trent began dating cheer captain Laura Cossey.
Surrounded by new friends, Trent gradually let go of his anger…or, to put it more properly, directed it to more socially acceptable outlets, such as school pariahs. During this time, the disfigured home school veteran Brandon James emerged as a favorite target of Trent and his friends.
Dishonorable Discharge
On Halloween night, 1994, Brandon went on a vengeful rampage, targeting his bullies. Trent, Brett, and Mike were killed, along with Laura and Brett’s girlfriend Dara Alden. Kevin nearly perished of his wounds en route to the hospital, but emerged as the sole survivor of the rampage, which became a dark stain on Lakewood’s history.1
Development
Scream the TV Series offers very little about the victims of the 1994 murders that comprise the series’ backstory. Of the five victims, only Dara and Brett were ever shown on screen, in a flashback. Trent, Laura, and Mike remained faceless and obscure. No in-universe information exists for any of these characters, except that they were all involved, to some extent, in tormenting Brandon James.
Trent and his fellow slain classmates were unattested in the SRU until 2025, when they were depicted in Big Trouble in Little Lakewood: 1969, in a vision experienced by Tony Higgs.
Trivia
The victims of the 1994 murders all have faceclaims connected to 1990s horror films. In Trent’s case, his faceclaim, Josh Hartnett, starred in 1998’s The Faculty and Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, the seventh film in the Halloween franchise.
