Greg Peters is a character in the Scream Roleplay Universe, appearing in the first volume of The Story so Far, and in Lifting the Mask.
Cameraman and technician for Lakewood’s struggling local news outlet, Lakewood KLA, Greg had a front row seat to the Lakewood Slashings, with nothing blocking him but his partner-in-correspondence Eliza Taylor’s lapels…which was totally fine by Greg, who was plagued with a weak stomach.
Greg didn’t benefit from the same celebrity boost Liz received after her coverage of the murder spree, something he was also quite fine with, not having any desire for limelight and mostly enjoying a small town life on a small town news circuit.

History
The Cameraman Can
Greg was born on June 22, 1988, in Lakewood. He graduated from George Washington High School as part of the Class of 2006, and was part of the school’s AV Club. He was in the same class as aspiring journalist Eliza Taylor. After graduating, he studied Communications at Lakewood Community College, interning at Lakewood KLA, the local news outlet.
By the time Eliza Taylor joined KLA, Greg was a fulltime cameraman and technician. He and Liz were paired together more than any other tech/reporter pairing, by virtue of them being closer in age and knowing each other from school. Liz’s outgoing, adventurous personality was a shock to the more introverted Greg, but he developed a liking for her and learned early not to second guess her hunches.
Murder in Small Town X
When high schoolers Stacy Winters and Brock Carmichael were murdered on October 18th, 2015, Greg and Eliza were among the first on the scene, Greg recorded Eliza’s unforthcoming interactions with Medical Examiner Maggie Duval and Sheriff Clark Hudson.
Their live feed was abruptly terminated, however, when the queasy Greg’s shaking hand errantly captured Brock’s mutilated corpse on the broadcast, provoking editor Al Calimani into pulling them off the air, to Eliza’s frustration.1
Appearance
Greg was a slightly-built young man, short brown hair, and hazel eyes. He was pale, and his face was dotted with freckles.2
Wardrobe
On the job, Greg wore a puffy blue jacket bearing the Lakewood KLA logo on the back.3
Personality
Greg was an earnest, hardworking person, held back by shyness. Despite his shrinking demeanor, he had strong principles and was far more perceptive than he was given credit for, picking up on a lot in the course of his training in the news world.
Skills
Broadcast technology: Greg was an accomplished cameraman and news tech.
Origin and Development
Greg was created for The Story so Far. The original Eliza Taylor of the 2015 Season 1 AU only appeared in two scenes, and was always on her own, without anybody from her (then unnamed) news organization.
Greg debuted in 2019, in the sixth chapter of The Story‘s first volume. After Volume I ended, Eliza resurfaced in Lifting the Mask, the first SRU “spin-off” in June 2019. Lifting‘s first chapter focused on Greg, now portrayed by Snafu Guru, seeking out Liz in New York City to convince her to return to Lakewood to investigate the murder of Terrance Smith. Greg’s murder at the end of Chapter 1 galvanized Liz into taking on the mystery, kicking the rest of Lifting‘s story into motion.
When the Volume I rewrite began in 2025, Greg’s introduction came earlier, with him debuting alongside Liz in the first chapter.
Trivia
Greg didn’t have a faceclaim when he debuted in 2019. When The Story so Far rewrite began in 2025, he was assigned Blake Bashoff (LOST, Spring Awakening). Other LOST veterans in the SRU ensemble include L. Scott Caldwell (Theodora Kellerman) and Cynthia Watros (Pamela Murray).
